Didn't anybody find anything weird with an (allegedly) $35,000/year job that allows/requires commuting from a distance of 1,400 miles? There seems to be a lot of inefficiencies that haven't been wrung out yet.
Note: I say allegedly because this figure seems to include less-than-full time employees; also, I saw
this --probably biased--that says that FAs "enjoy a great deal of time off (13 to 17 days off per month; roughly 6 months off per year!)."
Edited to add:
this article confirms that "Flight attendants frequently have between 12 and 18 days off per month and over a years time, average about 156 days off. (The average office worker has 96 days off and, works eight-hour days.)"
