AF will not try to get overweight charge from you.

If you were returning with a 60 lb bag, and had a stopover instead of transit stop in France, there is a very good possibility that upon check in in IST they would apply the lower 20KG (all bags together!) limit, in which case you can argue it is a TPAC flight, but that argument most likely would not work.
