Thanks! I was nearly positive that we would not go through customs, but thought I would ask the experts (that would be the FlyerTalk forum not the SMS desk).

I have a suitcase that weighs more than 50 lbs. (Too many of our friends in Turkey want us to bring canned hams). I think that Air France will just accept it and not charge us because they would have no reason to weigh it just in the process of transferring it. I can check in here with a bag over 50 lbs because I am medallion member. I do not have to worry about checking it in with Air France on our return because I will not have any canned hams, Crisco, oatmeal and all the other things with which I am currently traveling. Do you think I can slip through Air France with a suitcase that weighs 60 lbs?
