We are flying JAX to IST next week. We fly DL metal to CDG and then switch to Air France. The lady at the SMS desk just told me that she has "been told" that we will have to clear customs in Paris, even though we are only changing planes at CDG. We did not have to do that last year when we changed planes in Italy.

Does anyone know if this is true? It makes no sense to me that we would have to clear customs in France since we should not even see our checked luggage. I think it should simply be transferred to the Air France plane that flies us on to Istanbul.

Also, will Air France allow two checked bags per person if the flights either originate or terminate in a different country making the entire flight "International"?
