The doom, gloom, blood and guts CNNs of the world will not be happy till they get that ratings boosting live shot of a 50 foot wall of water coming over that seawall and drowning their crew.
Hint: They got these things called webcams. Cheap and easy to use. Put dozens all over the seawall if you want live video of the storm. Then leave. Have your weatherman provide live commentary on the video. From your studio in Kansas.
The problem is webcams are powered by electricity and when that goes out due to flooding there are no pictures.
TV news reporters are no more stupid than anyone else and take steps to ensure their safety - but their job does put them in danger occasionally which is why they earn good money.
