No they can't. I guess that the Dutch FB American Express card is involved here.

When you've this card, then you can give two other persons (can be your partner, but also a colleague or somebody else) can get a partnercard. In that case the partnercards has the same level as the maincardholder has.

But this works also the other way around. When you are Ivory, have this card and your (Platinum)spouse has a partnercard, your spouse loose his or her status and become Ivory again.

So: ONLY with the Dutch FB American Express card this is possible. BTW you don't have to be a Dutch resident, but you do need a Dutch bankaccount.
