How "educated" is the guess? Obviously if the flight is zeroed out there will be no reward seats, but does a J9, J5 or J2 indicate that there is a chance of reward seats will be available? I understand the overall trend that more open seats means better chances, but is it really that educated a guess, or just a guess?
