Our trip to India is fast approaching and looking for advice here on best transportation from our Delhi hotel (hopefully the Aman, if not the Imperial) to Aman-i-Khas. The hotel recomends train (accompanied by an Aman batman) but I'm not sure. The rail options aren't great. If we don't want to lose a day at the camp we would need to take the morning train at 7:55 for a 5+ hour journey to the train station which is 15 minutes from camp. Alternately, there's a 16:55 train takes just under 4 hours but that gets us there later in the evening than we'd want to be.

Alternately, we could fly to Jaipur on Kingfisher - a 40 minute flight from Delhi (Dep. 9:30, Arr. 10:10) and have Aman supply a 3.5 hour ground transfer to Aman-i-Khas.

We're leaning to the air option notwithstanding Aman's recommendation that train is better. The two options work out to about the same pricewise (i.e. air plus car from Jaipur is about the same as Aman's escorted train transfer).

I know Ericka's recent trip report was a bit ambivalent about the train transfer. Would love to here thoughts from everyone here.

(and while you're at it, if you have any thoughts on whether we should travel Agra-Delhi by car or air, I'd welcome those too!) ...
