Ok so the topic doesn't seem that odd, what stunned me when I called to change one of my flights on an AE reward ticket to a flight earlier in the day is that I now have to pay new tax/surcharge calculation based on today's date. so I ended up paying $131.20 in increased fuel surcharge, plus the $57.75 (55+GST) change fee.

Yay.
