With a Oneworld RTW ticket the OP gets up to six N. America segments included with the ticket. The airpass could be used to top up any additional required segments, would earn miles consistent with the RTW ticket, and on many routes will be cheaper than equivalent OW fares on other carriers. Not universally the case of course, but frequently.
