What is wrong with being excited?
We all experience something for the first time. I was very excited on my first CW flight (never flew BA First). I was not ashamed of myself even though I might have looked like a silly cow to the crew and all the very important people on corporate accounts who seldom pay for their tix themselves. I was polite to the crew and the crew was very attentive.

I am sure that for people who fly only coach b/c they can't afford anything else an upgrade to a higher class is a big deal coz they may never experience it again.

This thread is ridiculous.
I was in First on AA and did not know how to operate the seat - I guess I should have killed myself out of embarrassment?
People who are rude to the crew and how are extremely demanding are more often than not people who travel on their companies' accounts. I’ve seen ‘upgrades’ who were embarrassed to ask for anything because they thought they did not belong in the cabin or that the crew would treat them differently because they were upgraded.
Not everybody has a luxury to travel for the company's money and earn status and be important Golds and Silvers without paying for it themselves. I believe many FTers would be flying coach and would be happy for any kind of an upgrade if they were paying for flights themselves?
Some of the posts in BA forum are unbelievable. It's like everyone who is not Silver/Gold or who flies on an 'I' fare or (God forbid) is upgraded somehow becomes a third class passenger and should never be allowed onboard. Again - not everybody has a luxury of having their companies pay for their First/CW flights helping earn status.
