I've taken the shuttles run by CLS and another one, don't remember the company. They group those going to the strip on one bus and another for downtown.
If you are going to MGM, Mandalay or The Hotel it would be likely the first one or two stops and is a good cost-effective option if traveling solo. Otherwise it can be 5-7 stops before reaching say Venetian.
I did take a shuttle once to Four Seasons and it was the first stop
