When is your trip?

The renovation is stage by stage. As I mentioned before, when I was last there a couple weeks ago it was parking lots. I'll be there again next week so I can report on what's going on then if that'll help.

Meanwhile, on alternates, keep in mind that Disneyland is huge (remember it includes several theme parks, gigantic parking lots, its own hotels, etc), and the surround area of (non-Disney) hotels is huge. If you give up on the walking distance, all sorts of things open up. But you need to make clear if you're giving up on the walking distance, because very few of the hotels are. (Even if they're technically close to Disneyland, they're on the "back" side of it far far from any entrance you could walk through.)
