And one thing that I've found about UA is that they seem not to collect the BKK departure tax even though that's now supposed to be an issuing-carrier responsibility. So if you have a UA award ticket involving a BKK departure (not just a connection if you're staying airside) then you should fully expect to pay the THB700 per person at the airport in cash...
I just redeemed 3 *A C awards using US DM for RIC-ORD-LAX-ICN-PEK(stopover)-BKK(destination)-NRT-SFO-ORD-RIC. I have 2 segments on TG, PEK-BKK and BKK-NRT. I paid ~$61+ taxes per ticket, no details on various taxes. Should I be prepared to be hit up by TG for BKK departure tax of THB700 poer person?
