I've seen some recommendations both for small trolleys and for backpack and having real difficulty to decide...
In general I really like the trolley idea better as it has wheels and I don't have to carry it, also its much easier to get things out of it...
I read that in order to get to certain onsens and temples that we might be potentially staying in quite a long walk is required, is it an option that there will be no asphalt on the way and I will be stuck with a trolley that cannot actually be rolled?
