I believe this is true but others may have more definitive data. As a conservative and supporter of free enterprise the last thing I usually recommend is government intervention. However, I just flew LH business class, EWR-FRA-PRG-FRA-JFK.

Rack of magazines/newspapers to grab at boarding, 3 beverage rounds, full breakfast going and lunch returning, pillow & blanket on every seat...and I'm not talking about the TA segments. These services were on the < 1 hour FRA-PRG and PRG-FRA legs! Whatever their formula is regarding government support of LH, it's working at today's fuel prices and doesn't require nickel and diming the customer.
