...and she's not even a flyertalker yet.


Had drinks this past weekend with a lady friend from a major midwestern city, and after talk of work and the like, the conversation turned to travel subjects.

She described to me how in a former job she traveled everywhere on company dime, stayed at great hotels on company dime, and how much she missed all that. She then called herself a "mile whore", at which point I had to come out to her as a member of a community of slightly insane people who call themselves FTers and all they do is talk about travel all the time.

When she looked like she might cry as she was describing losing all status on AA, (why? ), I knew that I'd be recruiting a new member. It's amazing how some of us can bond over b:tching about WNs stupid check-in and boarding process.
