Was this on a UA/MP-issued Star Alliance award?

I've recently redeemed several UA/MP *A awards which include segments on TG. I was not charged any fuel surcharges. I was charged the AoT service fee, aka Departure Tax, of 700 THB as part of the total taxes and fees. My tickets have been issued in Thailand, for travel BKK-EUR-BKK and BKK-USA-BKK. One trip was recently completed and I was not asked by TG at BKK, or at TPE, to pay a fuel surcharge, nor was I asked to pay the AoT service fee.
