Do you wear/buy ethnic/folk attire while travelling?

As my name suggests, I grew up wearing Trachten pieces. As an adult, I still enjoy wearing Trachten inspired clothing such as individual pieces which I combine with more mainstream, modern pieces.

This summer I fulfilled a long time dream - purchased some items at Stassny, one of the designer Trachten stores in Salzburg (I used to drool in the window as a poor student, dreaming of the day when I had a real job and could afford their clothes - and still find most of the designer Trachten out of reach!) www.stassny.at

Typically, I wear Trachten skirts or shawls; I can't imagine wearing a full Dirndl anymore although I did admire several this past weekend at a local festival.

So, when you travel, do you buy or wear pieces from the local culture? On my 'dress me for India' thread, a few of you suggested that I do wear local attire.
