I think you shouldn't be charged any of the new domestic baggage fees, as long as your international connection is on the same ticket.
(I can at least contribute one bit of recent personal experience: I did DEN-PHL-AMS and AMS-PHL-DEN as a nobody on US Airways a few weeks ago, and I was not charged for my bag.)
