I have a longhaul followed by shorthaul flight arriving FRA T2 at 6:30pm with checked luggage. Then need to get to Berlin Spandau or Hbf.
The last nonstop train to Berlin for the day is leaving Frankfurt Hbf at 8:13pm and the DB website is giving a connection from the FRA regional train station at 7:47pm.
How likely would it be to make it to this 7:47pm local train considering the T2 6:30pm arrival, probable bus ride from the plane and waiting for (priority tagged) luggage? Is the 1h17min buffer enough to get to the station by shuttle bus/skytrain in time?
I could also catch a later connection through Dortmund but this includes a midnight transfer and arrival in Berlin at 4am. Or then stay in Frankfurt for the night and continue to Berlin in the morning.
I'd say it's doable.
Have you considered booking a one way LH flight to Berlin? They start at ~50 Euro. I doubt your train ticket is that much cheaper!
