How much do you worry about it? Do you feel okay about going out for the evening with your laptop set up on the desk? Do you put it in the safe? Does your feeling of safety vary by hotel quality and location?
I've never worried about it too much. When I first started doing a lot of international travel, I'd sometimes put my laptop in the room safe. Then I stopped doing that. Because buy.com had a sale one day, I picked up one of those Kensington cable locks. If I'm going to be in a hotel room more than overnight, I'll use it but, frankly, I'm not particularly worried.
