I searched the forum and there are a few posts about laptops being stolen in hotel rooms, and I have seen a few reviews on TripAdvisor alluding to this happening. Presumably, it is a rare event, though.

How much do you worry about it? Do you feel okay about going out for the evening with your laptop set up on the desk? Do you put it in the safe? Does your feeling of safety vary by hotel quality and location?
