Hi thanks for the response! The reason why I want to go look for it is because UA told me as I filled out the form that if they do not find my baggage at LGA after 3 days, then my baggage report form will be sent to their headquarters in chicago and they will then deal with it.

It just doesn't make sense that my bag would be anywhere else since it was scanned AT LGA a few minutes after my flight got in. (I got in around 1:20pm, and the bag was scanned into LGA at 1:37pm.) So i feel like my bag is either taken by someone by mistake or on purpose, or it's just sitting in LGA somewhere and no one has bothered to open it and see if the contents match the one that I gave them. The police said it's unlikely that someone stole my bag off of the carousel, but I also dont think it's likely that someone took my bag by mistake becuase there is no unclaimed bag from my flight.

I keep on thinking about what may have happened between the time that my bag was scanned into LGA and the time that the carousel started moving. either way this all just doens't make sense...mine is different than most people's lost baggage stories because mine did make it to the airport afterall.
