Well unfortunately it finally crashed and died
So my choices are now to get it repaired(wiped)or put the $150(estimated)towards a new machine-this one is three years old and gets a lot of use.
I don't think I will go with Dell again,and I really would like to avoid Vista.
Asus has a very cool little desktop-super cheap Unfortunately no dvd/disk drive so that might be a problem.
