Thank you all for the welcome! Several of your replies made me guffaw. Believe me, as I try to sell our house and pack everything that's left for the final move next week, this is no small accomplishment!

I will check out the Traveling With Pets forum, although I hope I will never have to do this again. Kitty was well-behaved on the flight, except when she "dropped a bomb" in her carrier and had to accompany me to the airplane bathroom for clean-up. If there is a next time, I will employ the one-quart Ziploc.
