I guess "nights credit" is limited to nights stayed using the purchased week at the home resort. Therefore if an owner wants "night credits" he has to give up the privilege of exchanging or even locking-off the specific unit. Exchanging into high demand locations/seasons and/or getting additional weeks for your owned weeks is a real big benefit. As for me mentioned benefits do far outweight the "loss" of 7 nights "stay credit" per ownership week. So as owner and MR Plat member who never uses his original purchased weeks my only benefits of the modifications are some bonus points. The mentioned discount at the Marketplace isnt a big deal either as many resorts will hand out you some sort of discount card together with your welcome package anyway.

If i am wrong and one get "night credits" for MVCI stays generally (re)qualifying for status within MR becomes less costly than today and there are a quite a few new "Matress run" options available.
