It seems like YX may have been backed into a corner and had no choice but to return many of the 717s. It's too bad they couldn't have reached this decision sooner. This just continues the string of bad news and, from a pr standpoint, they continue to be their own worst enemy.

Even if they are able to cover all the routes with the Republic jets, this latest installment of doom and gloom won't help with bookings. This one-time "little airline that could" is now held together with nothing more than duct tape. Midwest's reputation and model are becoming increasingly irrelevant in modern times. It's just too bad.
