Thumbs down ShopMarriot.com

Perhaps this is the wrong area to place this, and, if so, I apologize. I wanted to get the board's take on whether I am overreacting, if I have a right to be upset, and if so, how to handle my situation and what to expect/request from Marriott.com.

I recently received an offer after logging onto Marriott.com to receive 20% off beds and bedding from ShopMarriott.com. (You will see this if you log into your account as a Platinum and click on MarriottRewards: Sleep Like You're on Vacation! Exclusive beds and bedding 20% off for a limited time. Shop Marriott.com) Having recently gotten married, I decided to purchase a Renaissance Bed and accessories due to the discount. I called the sales number and spoke to a "concierge assistant" to help me with my order. She stated that she knew nothing about the discount and would call me that evening to let me order after clearing everything with her management.

Today, I received an email, not a call, stating that the sale is no longer valid (Note: It's still listed on Marriot.com as of 30 seconds ago!!!) and that they will not honor any discounts. The email stated that the sale ended on Tuesday (the date I had called) and that since I wanted to order today (Wednesday, the day after I attempted to order), I was too late. Having spent over 250 nights in the past 2 years in Marriotts, I expected better customer service. Do I have a right to escalate this and if so, who do you recommend I escalate this to? 20%, by the way, adds up to over 400 dollars. Oh, did I mention it's still listed on Marriott.com. 3 times? Oh. Thanks for your advice. - FSUNOLE
