No kidding. Why every free plane isn't in Vegas flying redeyes East, every night, is beyond me. Send one to CLT, PHL, PIT, DCA, BWI, IAD, BOS, PVD, ORF, RDU, etc. Nobody wants to connect on a redeye -- I sure as hell don't want to spend 2 hours in the Raleigh airport at 6 am with no restaurants open. Give me a direct redeye to my east coast final destination and I'll buy it every time, and pay triple what a regular ticket costs.

I have flown the LAS-DCA redeye about 20 times in 2007-08 and am seriously bummed they are killing it. What I still can't understand is that the redeyes were always full, 100% of the time. Every seat. And what else will the planes be doing? Just raise the fares if you aren't making enough money on the flight. At least give it a shot.
