I have a TomTom930 which I bought in the US with the maps of Europe preloaded.
I use it all the time in Europe with no problems whatsoever.
I have used for routing that included Italy, Slovenia, Croatia, Hungary, Slovakia, Austria, Germany, Switzerland, Italy.
Never had to reset for a border.
Enjoy your trip- should be fine.
