I fly Emirates MAN-BKK -I made Silver last December, and since becoming Silver have made 2 more trips, one of which was a reward flight. On both trips have had one sector upgraded to Business Class...... Yes, I was upgraded on to business class between BKK and DXB on my reward ticket. The other upgrade was DXB-BKK. These flights are well patronised, so with me travelling alone I am probably a prime candidate for upgrades.

So is silver worth it? Yes, for me it is..... quick check-in, better baggage allowance and a good chance of a free upgrade. Add the bonus of Lounge access at DXB with complimentary food and drink....

Yep.... it's definitely worth it.
