Spent a long time on the phone with DL with the same 70K result. I made a reservation and sent an immediate email to see if they can reduce the mileage. Luckily an international reservation can be held for 7 days so hopefully I will get a quick response to figure out what to do.

I had a related problem on NW because the agent said my routing from TIJ to MEX to CDG to OTP was something like 100 miles more than the allowed mileage from TIJ to OTP. I'm wondering if Delta has a similar maximum of miles for certain routings?

Frankly I don't see how TIJ would have a shorter route to OTP.
