Night flights were the cheapest flights and were used primarily to maximize the number of hours a plane was used. If you are losing money flying the plane, you stop flying it.

The WN reduction is effective in January whereas the 16% reduction is effective November. IIRC, the WN reduction amounts to about 12 fewer departures for WN, or about 4.5% of WN's daily ops at the airport.
US is cutting back a lot more than WN...
Amazingly I'm still booked to fly to LAS early next month, and the PIT-LAS flight is still a go. Imagine that, connecting through PIT in this day and age.
