I think another thing to note is that it seems some safety changes were made to the Cockpit Voice Recorder from 30 minutes to 2 hours. This allows in the unfortunate event of another similar incident to collect data that was lost due to it being overwritten because they suspect problems started more than 30 minutes prior to the final moment.
