I have some AMEX points that I would like to move to Delta so I can take a trip to Europe next summer.

I live in SAN, meaning I am a very short distance from TIJ. This is quite useful as transatlantic flights from MEX to Europe for the basic 50K miles seem much easier to find than flights directly from the US to Europe.

Went to the DL site to try to find availability and TIJ won't work. I had no problem to go directly from MEX to CDG as well as make CDG a stopover and then add an open jaw between OTP and IST still for 50k miles.

After a bit of research, I understand now that the DL site doesn't include AM flights. So I called Customer Service. After much waiting and a long time on hold, I was first told that TIJ wasn't even in the system. So I called back, thinking I might get an agent more informed. Again after much wait. this person was able to find availability, but only for 70K miles. He said this was because he had to manually enter the flight from TIJ to MEX.

I'd really like to find a way to get this ticket for 50k not 70k, and am hoping one of you veterans might have an idea. The only reason I think this might even be possible is that I can book out of TIJ on the NW website with ease and get the flight for the base 50k miles. I wish NW was a partner with AMEX!!

BTW I tried AF and CO but these don't work, AM only allows award reservations 6 months in advance when availability seems more jeopardized, and MX and StarAlliance require more miles (These are some of the AMEX partners). This is how I came up with DL.
