We're leaving soon for a 16-day bus tour of South Africa, starting from Johannesburg and ending in Cape Town. The places that we're on our own for dinner (some for two-night stays) are St. Lucia, Durban, Port Elizabeth, Knysna, and Cape Town.
We've read a little about South African food and dining, from a traditional emphasis on meat to
bunny chow, but haven't found a lot of restaurant recommendations.
We're traveling with a relative who's a restaurateur himself, and he and his wife
live to eat at least as much as we do.
Mrs. Fredd and I would greatly appreciate any and all recommendations, whether restaurant-specific or more general suggestions about food/dishes to try - or avoid. A 2006 thread asking this never got a reply, and my searches haven't turned up much, so let's give it a fresh try.

Thanks in advance.
Cheers,
Fredd
