Prepaid SIM cards are not available in Japan. However, Softbank offers a rental SIM for ¥105/day. Incoming calls are free, and local calls are ¥105/minute. Link: Softbank SIM Rental

An unlocked EU Nokia E65 should be fine for use with the rental SIM. I use an unlocked Nokia 6630 with no trouble at all.
