At DEN, some guy was making a big stink over a woman holding her very calm and well behaved dog while in line for food. Note where we were waiting was technically outside of the restaurant. I said, "sir, the dog is well bahaved and not causing any problems. The real hazard are those 3 kids crawling on the floor with rushed travelers running by inside the restaurant and throwing food." And of course I was very serious about it.

BTW, if you ever are asked to take your pet out, just ask for a private screening room. They are absolutely required to have it. Pre-Sept 11th, going through JFK, I was asked to remove my cat from the bag. The 2 screeners started ridiculing me and I just asked for a supervisor. The supervisor was proper and professional, admitted they didn't have one but were required to. She found an unoccupied room. ^ The 2 screeners probably had a few arrest warrants. I sure the TSA is now more diligent in hiring good people these days.
