Still, changes or not, my point is: can someone help figure out how I can retain my Diamond (*A Gold) status, in case it is not lifetime already ?

AA lifetime benefit I think is a non documented feature so they can take this away. OZ on the other hand has an official lifetime status level.
To maintain your OZ Diamond level you need to fly 40k miles in two years. Have a look here for more details:
