Wow, I now have to praise service and reliability of Air China for my flights with them during the Olympic games (I did not only fly them SHA-PEK-SHA in business/first, but also for a one day visit to Guangzhou in economy PEK-CAN-PEK):

Check-In at SHA, PEK, CAN: they have now clear designated seperate first / bus / StarGold (not in CAN, but there StarGold can check-in at business counter) / eco check-in desks.

domestic Lounges @ SHA (1st class) / PEK (business and first-class: same entrance but seperate lounge facilities) / CAN (combined bus/first): these lounges beat any domestic RCC by far (and even offer plenty of newspapers (mandarin ones and english CHINA NEWS); free WiFi at SHA-lounge, several free computer/Internet-terminal stations @ PEK and CAN.

seats: first/business (they were the same on this domestic flights) very comfortable large sized and plenty of legroom (not like inner European flights where we are offered the same seats as in eco), eco the same as 'anywhere' in Europe for domestic flights.

service on board: Even in economy I automatically was given (and specially greeted as Star Gold) just before take-off the daily CHINA NEWS (english newspaper).

luggage: on all flights, my luggage (priority tagged) was delivered with the very first pieces coming out.

mileage credit: all miles for all 4 flight-segments were already credited on my miles&more account 3-4 days after the flight.
