I just bought a ticket on OZ (SFO-NRT) during the thanksgiving week to have a change of pace from work. I always want to experience the momiji in Japan. Any suggestion on a slow pace mellow week-long trip focusing on enjoying the momiji?

Itinerary so far:

OZ213 SFO-ICN (11/23)
OZ108 ICN-NRT (11/24) arrive at 9PM
OZ107 NRT-ICN (11/30) depart at 9AM
OZ214 ICN-SFO (11/30)

The above is the cheapest flight I find departing SFO during the thanksgiving week at $870. A non-stop flight from ANA/UA all are northward of $1200.

Comfort Inn Narita (11/24-25)
Comfort Inn Kyoto (11/25-29) if Kyoto is the right place to enjoy momiji
Comfort Inn Narita (11/29-30) so the morning flight is a little easy to take

All of them are around $55/night.

What are your recommendation to enjoy momiji at its best during late November? or do you have other suggestion on accommodations in Kyoto?

I don't want to splurge on this trip as I still have other upcoming trips on Sapporo (Feb, Snow Festival) and Tokyo (March, Sakura Hanami).
