Status miles on a US codeshare that's on HA metal?

An odd question....

I have booked a flight through US Airways HNL-OGG-LAX-OGG-HNL.

All segments have US flight numbers, even though the inter-island segments are on Hawaiian (HA) and the mainland segments are on UA metal.

I called UA to have my MP # put in the record so as to get Economy Plus seating, but was told I couldn't put in my BD number for mileage accrual. No problem, I'll just switch it at the gate at OGG.

I know that I'll get the status miles on the UA metal flights, but my question is whether I will also get status miles for the HA-operated flights since HA is not a Star Alliance carrier. Otoh, maybe that doesn't matter since it has a US Airways flight number and it's a US Airways ticket?

I have my BD number attached to the US Airways reservation,** but this is very confusing -- it's my first-ever codeshare flight and it was 1/4 the cost of the same flights booked elsewhere.

**EDIT: I just looked at my reservation online at US Airways. The BD number was replaced by my MP # and the seat assignments on the UA-operated segments are showing.
