How a call is routed within a huge, networked call center can get pretty complex. Perhaps based on time of day, location, calls in queue, etc, your call was routed to an agent whose screen pop did not present your status information correctly, which is based on the number you dialled. Or the agent just did not notice this info.? I typically call the 1K line, and select Int'l. I honestly cannot ever remember anyone ever answering using "1K" in their greeting. This is over hundreds if not a thousand calls. It's usually "International Resevations, Miss/Ms/Mr Whomever, how may I help you?". I've never been pre-screened to verify 1K status but assume I'd get flogged if, after having the agent access the PNR, they would obviously notice that I wasn't a 1K?
