If its OLCI then the seat on your boarding pass is the right one. If its from the View/Change link... I think you might be missing an error message thats telling you the seats are under airport control or something similar.

This involves the reservation, not OLCI.
Well in this particular case, the second exit row was switched from row 14 (previously blocked) to row 16 about 48 hrs prior to departure. The seats in row 16 showed as available in the reservation system, and would allow me to select them in the interactive selection screen, but upon submitting the selection the seats assigned in the reservation would go right back to the originals.
Yesterday there was no error message, while today there was a message talking about airport control.
I think those seats were released to airport control, but still showed as available in the res system ahead of time.
