Just curious, does Hilton still allow mutual accounts? I thought I read somewhere that only existing mutual accounts are grandfathered and they won't open new ones. Regardless, I am curious as well.

The mutual account concept makes a lot of sense to me. At the moment it doesn't really impact us since my wife virtually never travels without me. There are times though were we might be meeting up (her driving and my flying in from a business trip) where it would be helpful to have a mutual account. Having to call in to get points moved for an award redempton is too much of a pain. The only thing I can think of us is Marriott not wanting two people to be able to combine nights so both get a higher elite level (e.g. one does 10 nights and the other does 40 nights and they both wind up gold rather than silver). My two cents...
