Yeah, well your job probably isn't regulated by the FAA and if your ridiculous way of thinking somehow turned into reality, I hope you enjoy having your evening flight canceled because the FAs (or especially pilots, since their duty limitations are shorter) would no longer be legal to work the flight after standing in security for 2 hours. Our duty day starts when we are required to be at the airport- for a flight attendant, depending on the point in the trip, and the type of plane we are flying on, is anywhere from :45 to 1:15 before scheduled push. That is because we are given an easy way through security at airports, because not everyone lives in fantasy land like you do making such outrageous and offensive claims.
And you are TRAVELING to work, but you aren't physically working. YOU get to sit, sleep, do whatever you please during your flight. We don't. We are on our feet. We are staying awake. We are making sure your glass is full, your tray is clear, etc, and judging by your attitude on here, probably without a smile or a "please" or "thank you" from you.
So seriously, shut up, jerk.
Now to the point of the original thread- I may take an olive here and there (they are sooo good!), but there is nothing hard about me stopping before the flight to grab a Subway (as already mentioned), or having a coach meal (unless it's a rare case where F meals are actually leftover -after ALL customers have been served), munch out of my goody bag, or just sit and deal with the fact that I was unprepared and I and I alone am to blame.
