Thanks for the reply. So, are you allowed any three regions or are you limited only to 3 regions when routing requires a 3rd region? Could a 3 Region ticket be routed as US - Europe - Asia - US? Essentially giving you a round the world ticket with limited stops? Also does this book in to F or A or some capacity limited award bucket?

I am wondering if this could be used as an alternative to a Standard award. For example, I might need to do a standard award from US to Europe next month (240k miles on UA). It seems to me that it would be a better deal (and more fun) to use a 3 region on LH for the same amount of miles (240k mm miles for a 3 region F award). Assuming of course the bucket if F or A and not O...
