Actually my irregular ops experience with WN is hands down much better than US. In fact, in 1 day, 12 hrs. at the airport, 10 due to US (and still waiting for a refund 2 mos. later). I bought a WN ticket, then weather came in, I decided to change to the next day, no problem, which flight would you like....no there are no fees, anything else we can do for you.....words US doesn't understand anymore.
You bought a last minute ticket on WN so of course you are going to be able to change it without fees or hassles, its a completely unrestricted ticket. Had you bought an advance purchase/restricted ticket, your story would have been completely different.
