Most "credible" sources, including:

say UA retired it's passenger DC-10's in 1997. But I have strong memories of flying a UA DC-10 from ORD-BWI in 8/1999, and today finally looked up at
http://www.bts.gov/ntda/oai/DetailedStatistics/
which verified that UA0730 flew from ORD-BWI on 8/6/1999 on N1857U, which is, in fact, a 1978-manufactured DC-10-30. I remember scheduling that flight and being suprised those planes were still flying and figuring it would be my last on a UA DC-10. So at least now I know I'm not imagining a flight that never happened.
So, when were the DC-10's finally retired, or what was the real last scheduled-flight? Anyone know why most websites list the wrong date?
